Our shop

Our quirky old drum shop at the top of Smith Street in Warwick is the fulfilment of a long‑held ambition for Charles Laird, the legendary mad drummer of Kenilworth!

Established in 2004, Charles Laird Drums is going from strength to strength as a focal point for all thats best in drumming and is a great meeting place for drummers of all ages and styles. THE SHOP IS RUN BY DRUMMERS, FOR DRUMMERS and even when our doors are not physically open, you can e‑mail us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for a personal service from a truly unique and independent shop.

The shop itself is much larger than it looks and because we have further storage facilities nearby, we can offer a huge range in different colours to suit your preference (and even deliver it locally free of charge). We also have personal tuition and practice studios on the premises, where you can develop your skills or just simply work out and de‑stress!

Our mad and chatty staff love talking drums to anyone who shares our passion and will even take an active interest in your own musical ambitions by encouraging and helping promote your band on our MySpace page and also playing your original recordings in our shop.

So what are you waiting for? If you love drums as much as we do, just check this site regularly for news of events and special offers, link to us on MySpace, but most importantly, call in to see us and youll discover for yourself why we are so different!

Charles Laird

Charles in action

Charles Laird is mad about drums, in fact he always has been since he started drumming at the age of 6 and went on to make his first record at the age of 13.

For more than 20 years Charles has gone on to gain a great reputation for teaching drums to all types from aspiring young stars of the future through to old rockers, both male and female. He has also introduced drumming as a fantastic de‑stressing therapy to high‑flying businessmen and even "mature" professionals rediscovering their wilder side!!!

As well as playing in several fine bands himself, he has encouraged and developed several of his pupils through "drum college" and on to become professional drummers. But besides that, Charles also loves to promote drumming in local and inner‑city schools as a great hobby and a very constructive and sociable activity:

"Playing the drums is one of the most satisfying activities that ANYONE can do! Even if you don't want to be a drumming superstar, you will love it from day one - it is a great way to relax, make friends and keep fit for life."

By sharing his passion for drums, Charles is a man with a mission to introduce more and more people to the love of music and rhythm, enhancing their personality and staying with them as a positive and healthy influence throughout the rest of their lives. Rock on, Charles!!!
